monochromeradiationsensitive said: Hey, I intend to buy a nice rangefinder camera quite soon, and after having looked and looked again at many different reviews, it seems like the canon ql17 G3 is a very nice one! Since it's pictured in your profile picture, I thought I would ask you: is it a nice camera to use in everyday life? I intend to carry it almost all the time with me. I miss way too much content because I'm lazy to bring my reflex with me ;) Have a great day and by the way, I enjoy your blog a lot!! All the best, Leo
I really don’t think I use my Canonet enough. It’s a great camera because of its size, and the 40mm 1.7 lens is excellent. One downside is the meter. It only meters in shutter-priority automatic mode, and it’s not the most accurate with modern batteries. Also, the 48mm filter thread is a bit strange, but a step-up adapter to 49, 52, or even 58mm is a tidy solution. The quick-load feature is wonderful, though. And the bright viewfinder is a dream to work with. You will almost certainly have to replace the light seals. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a QL17-GIII with usable original light seals, but they’re easy to replace. Overall, it’s one of the best companion cameras ever made. Thanks a lot, and happy shooting.
Thank you very much Luxlit for re-blogging my photo: Extra Storage. Thanks, also, for so many likes.
